Your Xbox Live Status as a Feed

I've been searching for a way to display my Xbox Live status as an RSS feed or similar for my Lifestream. Fortunately, I've been using Duncan Mackenzie's Twitter application. There's even an API and some other stuff. Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with it. Yeah. Now, I created an alternative method to using the API, but it requires Twitter, the previously mentioned Xbox to Twitter application and Yahoo! Pipes. Also, sometimes it doesn't work. I'm going to show you how to set it up, though I would much prefer someone showed me how to set it up using the API. Firstly, you'll need a Twitter account. Twitter is an increasingly popular site which is used to tell people your real-life status. It's kind of hard to explain without making it sound weird, so just sign up and try it out. If you want you can add me as a friend. Now, there are two ways to do this. If you want a Twitter account to be devoted to this Xbox Live status only, it's a lot easier. If you want to do this with an existing Twitter account that you are using, as I did, you'll need to follow the full instructions. Now, you need to install Xbox to Twitter and you should probably set it to run at start up as you'll need this program running for anything to happen. Put in your Xbox Gamertag, Twitter username and Twitter password. Read the instructions on how you want your status to be formatted. I use the following. Xbox Live Status: <game>, <info>.

Early Tunesday and 40K

Wow, I've got some stuff to catch you up on. Okay, it's summer, so not really. I do have a couple of interesting things to share, though. Firstly, I'm doing a short edition of Tunesday today. Yes, I know I could just wait until tomorrow, maybe I still will, but I have to talk about Silent Alarm Remix. In my last Blog I was pretty harsh on the album, but once I got to listen to it through some decent speakers, it really wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. A lot of the tracks are just "Meh" but some are really catchy and one track, Luno, done by Canada's own Death From Above 1979 might even be better than Bloc Part's version. So, sorry Bloc Party, I was too quick to judge Remixed but I wasn't completely off. My recommendation is this: If you like British ...

Tunesday - Angels & Airwaves

Well, it has been a week, so I guess it is time for another Tunesday. This week's featured group is Angels & Airwaves, with their debut album We Don't Need To Whisper. I really love its science fiction feel, from the radio crackles to the cover art. Really, my only complaint with A&A is they'll probably always be associated with Blink 182 as the lead singer was previously in that band. His voice is instantly recognizable as being, well, him so I hope that the group is able to break off from that. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore, so I'll just leave it at that.
