I was just cleaning some folders out in my room, and I found this card that said Who is Dr. Cube? I didn't know, nor did I know where I picked up this card. Please return this tract to let us know that Dr. Cube is now your personal Savior. Feel free to visit Dr. Cube at kaiju.com for more information on this once in a life opportunity. I thought I had no idea what "Kaiju" was, either. I looked it up to find I did know what it was, I had just never heard this name associated with it before. Apparently Kaijū is the name of Godzilla-esq giant creature fights in primarily urban locales. So, heading to the URL provided, I discovered that the main story on the site is about Bloc Party, my ...

Your Xbox Live Gamerscore as a Feed

My Lifestream has gone through many different sources of feeds for my Xbox Live status. I think it started with the Live to Twitter ordeal, which was stupidly complicated and didn't even work that well. More recently, I changed it to my 360voice feed, but it still wasn't really what I wanted. I had been messing around with the 360voice API and trying to see what I needed to do to turn the XML into a standard RSS 2.0 feed. My attempts were fruitless, but I ended up contacting Squidpunch, a fellow 360 gamer and co-creator of The Live Eye, one of my favorite uses of the Xbox Developer Program features. Anyways, he very kindly agreed to help me out, and came up with a service that lists your gamertag and gamerscore daily through an RSS feed using the 360voice API. He's also kindly hooked me ...

I’m Making a Note Here: Huge Success

It's a good thing I completed BioShock when I did. I picked up The Orange Box, along with another product which I'll blog about later, on Friday. This is basically the final nail in the coffin for Project Gotham Racing 4, not that I could afford it anymore if I wanted to. I need to play some more of the demo, just for fun, to see if I really want it or if it was just a phase thing. Regardless, I'm not even looking at it right now, this set is so good. Well, let me re-phrase that, Portal is so good, I actually haven't even played any of the other games yet. Like most people who are getting this, I think, I have never been into Half-Life before, but that's part of the appeal of this set. As soon as my family got a PC that was more than capable of running Half-Life, my hardware-challenged friend, Harry, started bugging me to buy it. I never did, and since I never had an original Xbox, I never paid much attention to that re-release, either. As soon as I saw Portal a number of months ago, though, this set became a must-buy. I don't know, but the general attitude before release about Portal seemed to be skeptical. For me, I was just purely excited. Having finished it twice, beating the Advance levels and being more than half way though the Time, Step and Portal Challenges, I think it's safe to say I'm satisfied. Well, as everybody's been saying, except for the length.
