What’s Live and What’s Not
This post could likely be the last or second to last on my site. I’ll probably just do one more later to tie up any loose ends. Why? I should be switching to a real host in the very near future. This is the primary reason I haven’t been updating the site. There is not much motivation to when I never get any comments, but I have a few good topics that I want to write about but I’m saving them for the new site. I’ve also been working on designing a WordPress theme, seeing as I’ll be running WordPress 2.1 on it rather than 1.5 with Blogsome. That’s not to say that Blogsome isn’t great. It was the perfect thing for when I started out learning CSS, but now there are lots of things I want to do that I can’t without a full installation. Plugins, Themes and all-around customization. I also want to be able to host my domain, dotKenneth.com. Right now it’s just set to re-direct to this site. Anyways, back to the theme. I’ve got the layout mostly done, thanks completely to Small Potato’s WordPress Theme Tutorial. I’ve got a basic idea down on paper of what I want the final thing to look like, I already made a new header that I just have to edit the border for. I’m also planning on using a Hemingway-style bottom bar with no sidebar. It may turn out to be tumble-blog-esq, I obviously don’t do full posts that often so I kind of have a mix going. The Twitter Tools plugin has a cool feature that’ll auto post that day’s tweets in one post. If I can find something similar for Flickr that would be awesome. I kind of feel like I’m ripping of Sakurina since he’s been planning on turning his blog into a tumble blog for a while. It’s becoming the next big thing, though, you can already see that from services like Tumblr. I’ll just make sure to differentiate mine from his, he always goes minimalist and dark.
There was probably some other stuff I was going to talk about, but Xbox Live (or LIVE as it is officially called now, more on that in a future post…) is back up. Special thanks to Major Nelson for all the updates on his site and Twitter, as well as for dealing with all those spammers. I have to say, while Live was down, I had no urge to go play my 360. I did kill some time by reading all those crazy comments, though.
