Browsing Digg yesterday, I came across a funny article about (fake) rejected Xbox 360 Achievements. Inspired, I set out to create my own, complete with original images. They are all built off experiences of my own or ones friends have told me. This limited my choice of games and ideas, so there are only six right now, maybe I’ll add more if I think of some good ones.

1 Crackdown: Have a Heart
Kill at least two civilians for every one gang member killed after three hours of play.
Worth: 20G
2 Lumines Live!: No Lag Online
Complete a Lumines Live! Xbox Live multiplayer battle that does not lag throughout the entire match.
Worth: 20G
3 Hardwood Backgammon: Zzz…
Play through an entire game of Backgammon against the computer without getting even slightly bored.
Worth: 50G
4 Geometry Wars: Survive This!
Clear the screen without using a bomb after scoring 1, 000, 000 points with your eyes closed.
Worth: 5G
5 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: D-Paddled
Discover that pulling off combos is especially hard with the 360’s terrible D-Pad.
Worth: 10G
6 G.R.A.W: The Point of No Return
Ruin your gamerscore number to the point where recovery looks impossible.
Worth: 32.7G

The Crackdown one is a worry I have about the full game after playing the demo: What incentive is there to be good? I try and be ‘the good guy’ because you are supposed to be, but it seems easier just to blow everything - and everyone - up. I know you lose skill points for related civilian kills, but seeing as the demo had accelerated skill development I don’t know how bad that penalty is in the full game. The Lumines achievement is related to the fact that all multiplayer games seem to lag online. This is pretty annoying seeing as how the game is called Lumines Live!. The Geometry Wars achievement is poking fun at how hard it is to get the achievements in the game for so little gamerscore. The G.R.A.W. achievement is actually the first one I came up with. I don’t play it online because I worry that I’ll get an achievement and mess up my gamerscore. Ubisoft, apparently, decided it would be a good idea to stray from the common ‘ends in 0 or 5′ system and screw everything up. Though I’ve avoided it, my friend, Andrew, isn’t as lucky.
