Wow, I’ve got some stuff to catch you up on. Okay, it’s summer, so not really. I do have a couple of interesting things to share, though. Firstly, I’m doing a short edition of Tunesday today. Yes, I know I could just wait until tomorrow, maybe I still will, but I have to talk about Silent Alarm Remix. In my last Blog I was pretty harsh on the album, but once I got to listen to it through some decent speakers, it really wasn’t as bad as I made it out to be. A lot of the tracks are just “Meh” but some are really catchy and one track, Luno, done by Canada’s own Death From Above 1979 might even be better than Bloc Part’s version. So, sorry Bloc Party, I was too quick to judge Remixed but I wasn’t completely off. My recommendation is this: If you like British alternative rock pick up Bloc Party’s Silent Alarm now. If you like techno, take a listen to Silent Alarm Remix. Overall, though, the regular version of the album is a lot better in my opinion, but Remixed is still pretty good.

In other music ‘news,’ I finally picked up Suzie by Boy Kill Boy and Out of my Head by Mobile, I’ve wanted both of those for a while. I’m not going to bother finding the URLs for you, I’m not very fond of iTunes. I also downloaded a program called Juice. I saw a program for Linux on the TV show Call For Help called Castpodder, so I was looking for a Windows counterpart, and found Juice. I’m really enjoying watching Podcasts. I can get my favorite bits of episodes of Attack of the Show and X-Play and web-only stuff like Hak.5. If you’ve got a good podcast you found that you want to send me, please do, I’m looking for new stuff.

Oh, right, the 40K bit. I kind of didn’t think about how a lot of people won’t know what Warhammer 40,000 is, especially the few-to-none people that read this blog. Warhammer 40,000 is a science fiction table top game where you use miniature soldiers which you’ve bought, built and painted to represent your troops and fight battles. If you really care you can find more about the game on its Wikipedia page. Games Workshop is running an online campaign right now for this game, you play battles and put the results on their site and that determines the result of the summer campaign. I couldn’t participate in the first event at the Games Workshop store, so my dad and I played a game yesterday. It was pretty fun, it’s been a while since I played a real game, even if it was a small one. If you want you can read the battle report here, my leader is Chaplin Iachos (That’s Latin for To Shout or something) so I wrote the battle report from his point of view (No, this isn’t some kind of role playing game!) I’ve been working on my Gallery page recently, so I’ll take some pictures of my minis and upload them once I’m finished with it.

If you cared enough to read this whole thing, wow. Thanks for reading my random collection of thoughts from the past few days.
